Exclusive: 9 Tunisian, 13 international shows on agenda of Carthage festival
Twenty-two shows (9 Tunisian and 13 international) are on the agenda of the 54th edition of Carthage International Festival (July 13-August 17).
The international shows include 7 mid-eastern and 5 western performances, in addition to a Chinese ballet show.
The opening show will be a special production of the festival by Mahmoud Lassoued entitled "Carthage in Ichbilia," with the participation of Zied Gharsa and Dorsaf Hamdani (Tunisia), Abir el Abed (Morocco), Abbes Rigui (Algeria) and Maria Marina (Spain), TAP exclusively learned from an informed source at the organising committee.
The closing evening (August 17) will also be marked by a production of the festival, Mohamed Ali Kammoun’s "24 perfumes" which will see the participation of artists from Tunisian regions among others.
TAP further learned that Moroccan comedian Jamel Debbouze will make his comeback after a 6-year absence with his show “Maintenant ou Jamel” (Now or Jamel). French flamenco guitarist and singer Kendij Girac, the 100 Voices of Gospel group, Lebanese singer Mejda Roumi and Iraqi singer Kadhem Saher are among the artists and groups exclusively present at Carthage International Festival.
Sufi music and Malouf shows, a show by Myrath group and two opera shows are also on the agenda among others.
The press conference of this 54th edition will be held on July 4 at the City of Culture.
