Some 34 thousand dinars granted to first three winners of national competition for packaged olive oil
The government has allocated 34 thousand dinars to the first three winners of the national competition for packaged olive oil.
The first prize is worth 20 thousand dinars while the second prize is worth 14 thousand dinars and the third is set at 10 thousand dinars, according to data published by the Official Gazette of the Tunisian Republic (JORT) n 57 dated July 10, 2018.
Data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries indicate that Tunisia has exported since September 2017 to June 30, 2018, nearly 11,913 thousand tonnes of packaged olive oil against 9,520 thousand tonnes during last season, an increase of 25%, including 26% was gained by Canada.
Tunisia has set up a fund to strengthen the export of packaged olive oil. Besides, a number of Tunisian producers have received several awards in 2018 organised in the field of olive oil including 4 awards in the Athens competition for olive oil in its 2018 edition.
