Tunisia to host in September high- level international conference on public-private partnership
A high-level international conference on public-private partnership prospects will be held on September 18 in Tunis.
The event is initiated by the Development, Investment and International Co-operation Ministry in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank group, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
This conference is part of the implementation of public-private partnership (PPP) as set out in development policies and programmes; PPP is a complementary mechanism that comes to underpin the State’s efforts to enhance growth and encourage the private sector to contribute to megaprojects, the ministry Wednesday said in a press release.
The conference will bring together representatives of major national and international companies as well as investment funds, lenders and banks.
The event was the focus of a meeting that Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation Zied Laadheri had Wednesday with PPP Manager for the Middle East and North Africa at IFC Muneer Ferozie, IFC Resident Representative in Tunisia Georges Joseph Ghorra, EBRD Head for Tunisia Antoine Sallé de Chou and President of the General PPP Authority Atef Majdoub.
